Rotary's 50th Anniversary Tree - Nov 2016

Rotary District Governor Gerry Kierans, Councillor Audrey Wales MBE & Carrickfergus Club President Colin McCarthy plant a tree to mark the Club's 50th Anniversary


President Colin & the Members of the Rotary Club of Carrickfergus join the Mayor Councillor Audrey Wales MBE and Rotary District Governor Gerry Kierans at the tree planting ceremony to mark the Club's 50th Anniversary.

President Colin McCarthy and the members of the Rotary Club of Carrickfergus were joined by Councillor Audrey Wales MBE, the Mayor of Mid and East Antrim Council and Gerry Kierans District Governor of Rotary in Ireland to plant a tree in the Borough to mark the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the Club.

Following the ceremony, the Mayor entertained the party in the Mayor's Parlour and thanked the Rotarians for their contribution to the local community.

President Colin McCarthy expressed the Club's gratitude to the Mayor for her hospitality and her participation in the tree planting ceremony. He commented on the privilege it was for the Carrickfergus Club to have both the Mayor and the District Governor present at the event.
