Whitehead White Harbour - 27th March 2017
*

Terence and Kim Stitt with Rotary PP Brenda Houston

Terence & Kim Stitt, the owners of Whiteharbour, described how they acquired, restored & developed the facility sited between Whitehead & Cloughan Point which is now a fully functioning limestone harbour which welcomes leisure craft & small commercial craft and offers facilities for private functions, group visits, wedding receptions & photoshoots.
They explained that Whiteharbour was originally built in Victorian times by David Stewart Ker the owner of Red Hall estate for the export of limestone & later red bricks made in a local brickworks.

It was fascinating to hear the details of the painstaking restoration work on what was a Grade 2 listed 'building' but even more fascinating to get an insight into the owners vision for the potential of the facility. It was that vision, determination, entrepreneurial approach and resourcefulness which drove the project forward to what it is to-day.
